(thenotsomorningshow.com)- The new textbook “Calendars and Years II: Astronomy and Time in the Ancient and Medieval World” (Oxbow Books, 2010) indicates the conversion dates used to sync the Mayan with the Gregorian calendar may be off by as much as a century.

The calculation used, the GMT constant, may have relied on erroneous dates to match the two calendars. These dating errors could mean that the Mayan date is off by decades, high or low, give or take.

For the followers of the Mayan “doomsday” calendar are now attempting to determine if in all of the preparation and excitement, they may have jumped the gun and will have to wait until early in the 22nd century.

Or that mankind may have already missed doomsday by 99 years.
