Loose lips sink ships, or so they say.
Welcome to “Loose Lips”, the segment that explores the consequences of when someone’s big mouth sinks their ship and gets them or others in trouble. In this show, we’ll examine real-life examples of how carelessly spoken words can lead to major consequences, both personally and on a larger scale.
It may be a Julian Assange or Edward Snowden type who ‘lets the cat out of the bag’. Sometimes reporters like Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein follow a critical story to its climactic end. More times than not, cannon shots are launched over the bow of those oblivious of the water they have already taken in, as their own words and actions sink the ship.
This feature of the NSMS examines some of the many instances of the latter, where a slip of the tongue or only plain evidence disproves their existing narrative. Leaving the obvious exposed for anyone who glances to easily see, and in turn lock in on their vessel.
